AN OUTING OF REMEMBRANCE
We would like to thank everyone for their continued support of the Myrtle Beach Never Forgets Golf Outing since the event’s inception in 2002. We’re proud to say that in nine years we have raised just over $93,000 to support various organizations. The majority of those funds raised have gone to the Firefighter Cancer Support Network (FCSN) to assist our firefighter brothers and sisters nationwide who are battling occupational cancer.
In 2011, the 10-year anniversary of 9/11/01, the event’s co-founder, Kevin O’Brien announced that it would be the last year of the outing. A large group of supporters and golfers fought to keep the event going. This is when Bruce and I rallied together to make sure the event would continue.
During the 2019 outing we met with the team at FCSN and decided it was time for us to step back and pass the majority of the event production and golf day management on to them. They graciously accepted and vowed to preserve the integrity of our event and the memorial heart of it. While still involved, our roles in the event management side will be minimal. This will allow us to spend more time with our families and allow us to golf at the outing with our fellow firefighters, friends, and other participants.
We look forward to seeing you on the green in May 2022!
Nick Giordano and Bruce Fritz
